The VETRA brand was founded by EDOUARD BEERENS in Paris in 1927. He designed the red VETRA logo as it can be seen on today's label. Workwear brand names were written in red ink in the first half of the 19th century as it referred to the socialist emblem of the working class. The name VETRA essentially consists of the abbreviation of VETements de TRAvail. The use of two syllables made it easy to memorize the short brand name VETRA.
